Completing a race of any distance can be considered quite a feat for most, but few people could even imagine what a team of runners from WKFR and AWE!

Utilizing a trail rider, the team of 7 completed the Wildhorse Traverse 50km ultra marathon. The race is a rugged and remote point to point ultra, taking you from Kelowna to Naramata through the scenic and grueling trails of Okanagan Mountain Provincial park with almost 2000m in elevation gain.

Leading up to the event Clayton shared the reasoning behind wanting to participate in a race such as this. “I’m doing this race in order to promote inclusion and change people’s perceptions of what is possible when living with a disability.” And change perceptions, they did. The team crossed the finish line to roaring cheers after 8 hours and 25 minutes of racing coming in well under the race cutoff time of 10 hours.
